Lynx

Scientifica name: Lynx lynx
The lynx is an animal that becomes active at twilight and continues through the night, but it can have active periods during the day as well, when it need food or its habitat is in disarray. During the day, when it rests, the lynx looks for hidden places, large rocks with cracks and deep crevices, very dense thickets, places rendered rugged by natural calamities. It has the ability of climbing trees and swimming when necessary, although, in the mountains, it rarely has the chance of passing through deep waters. The lynx has a body length (including the head) of 80-120 cm, a tail of 12-25 cm; the height is 45-85 cm, while the weight is 11-38 kg. The fur is yellow-reddish with rusty or black spots, except for the abdomen, which is white-yellow. The ears end in long black hair tufts, the longer hair on the jaw hanging in the shape of whiskers, while the short tail has a black tip. The survival chances of the cubs increase depending on how dry the shelter where they are raised is. These are the main important factors for the survival of lynx cubs in their first year of life. Just as the wolf, the lynx needs habitats untouched by man, barely accessible, rocky or with knocked down trees.
