Scientific name: Romanogobio kesslerii
The
sand goby is a small-sized species usually living in large rivers
from the hill to the lowland regions.
A
gregarious species, it can form numerous banks in regions that have a
relatively slow flowing speed.
It
can easily be mistaken for the common variety (Gobio gobio), thorough
knowledge being necessary for differentiating the two fish species.
